YouTuber and wildlife content producer Graham “Dingo” Dinkelman died last weekend, aged 44, after being bitten by a green mamba, a species of venomous snake, in September.
Dingo spent a month in a medically induced coma in hospital while his body tried to recover from the anaphylactic shock caused by the snake’s venom. The death was confirmed by a note published in the name of his wife, Kirsty Dinkelman, on the YouTuber’s social networks.
“On Saturday, October 26, 2024, after spending a month in the ICU in a medically induced coma following a snakebite, South African wildlife champion, YouTube sensation and devoted family man, Dingo ‘Graham’ Dinkelman passed away (44) ”, said the note on Instagram.
“Although Dingo was known for his association with snakes and other reptiles, his compassion extended to all creatures. There was a special place in his heart for African mammals, his favorites were elephants, rhinos and lions, as well as our own giraffe, Elliot. But his love for his family was always behind his purpose, motivation and passion,” the text adds.
“As he once said, ‘My passion, my calling, the reason I was put on the face of this Earth, is to help people connect with animals. I have always believed that we need to convert the unconverted – to reach people who have no experience whatsoever with nature and wildlife, who are afraid of snakes and afraid of getting dirty, and make them fall in love with conservation,” the statement added. .
“By sharing his passion for all creatures, we will continue his legacy by promoting conservation and continuing to share his sense of wonder and wonder with the world,” it reads.
