Choyangode Kinavoor Sandeep died on Saturday evening after suffering over 40% burns.

The ordinance states that pretrial detainees should not be released unless they have been released from prison. District Sessions Judge Sanu S. Panicker issued the verdict. It was also ordered to send a notice to those who appeared in court. The district court took a rare action, taking the case on its own motion.

Hozdurg magistrate Baludinesh on Friday granted bail to the first and second accused in the case, temple committee presidents PK Chandrasekaran and KT Bharathan, and the seventh accused, P. Rajesh, who set off the firecrackers. This was with a condition that included two sureties.
