Lebanon’s Ministry of Health Reports 9 Dead and 2,800 Injured in Hezbollah Pager Explosions
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported that beepers used by members of Hezbollah exploded collectively in many places across the country, resulting in 9 deaths and nearly 2,800 injuries.
A source close to Hezbollah told AFP that the dead included Hezbollah MPs Ali Ammar and Hassan Fadlallah.

Iran’s official media reported that Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, was also injured in the beeper blast.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters: “I can tell you that the US was not involved, had no prior knowledge, and we are gathering relevant information.”
