Deadly Deception: Uncovering the Mossad’s Alleged Role in Hezbollah’s Explosive Discovery
Alleged Mossad Involvement in Lebanon Explosion Sparks Tensions
Beirut: A recent explosion in Lebanon has raised suspicions of Israeli involvement, with Hezbollah accusing Mossad, the Israeli spy agency, of planting explosives in callers purchased by the organization.
The incident occurred after nine people were killed and around 3,000 injured in an accident where callers exploded. Hezbollah claims that Mossad planted the explosives in the callers, which were bought from Gold Apollo, a company based in Taipei, Taiwan.
However, Gold Apollo has denied any involvement, stating that the callers were not produced by their company. The company’s founder, Hsu Ching-kuang, said that the pagers damaged in the blast were manufactured by a company in Europe and only had their brand name on the pager.
Modified Callers and Explosives
Hezbollah started using pagers due to concerns about eavesdropping on mobile phone communications. Lebanese sources suggest that Mossad may have modified the callers during their construction, placing a table containing explosives inside the devices.
According to Hizbullah, when a message from the leadership reached the callers, instead of passing the instructions, the table containing the explosives was detonated. The explosives, which were reportedly three grams in each caller, were not detected despite being used for months.
Hezbollah’s Response and US Involvement
Hezbollah has stated that Israel was behind the attack and has vowed to retaliate. The organization believes that the Israeli attack was not aimed at individuals, but rather at promoting the country.
As tensions between Hezbollah and Israel escalate, the United States has denied any involvement in the incident. The US has stated that it is gathering information on the matter and has no role in the conflict.
