The Shastamkota police have filed a custody application and will request that Ajmal and his friend, Dr. Srikutty, be remanded in custody for 3 days. The aim is to complete the trial, including the collection of evidence, and both defendants have been charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Ajmal has a criminal record, with previous cases involving sandalwood smuggling and fraud. The police are also investigating whether the accused had used intoxicating chemicals, as medical examination results showed that Dr. Srikutty was also drunk at the time of the incident.
