Fatal Dog Attack in Auckland: Man Killed by Three Vicious Dogs
A devastating dog attack occurred in Auckland last weekend, resulting in the death of a man who was viciously attacked by three dogs. The dog owner has been arrested and faces a felony charge.
The Oakland Police Department reported that the attack occurred on 36th Avenue in the Fruitvale neighborhood, near Cesar Chavez Park, just before noon on Sunday. When police arrived, they found a man with multiple dog bites who was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to KTVU, family members identified the deceased as Robert Holguin, who was under his car when the incident occurred. Robert was allegedly attacked by three dogs weighing over 100 pounds that escaped from a yard. The dogs were identified as a cross between Italian Cane Corso and Neapolitan Mastiff.
Ali Alhidhani, a nearby store owner, described the dogs as “huge and very scary.” The dog owner, Brendan Burke, faces a felony charge for allegedly failing to control his animal, resulting in human death. He was arraigned on Thursday.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office informed that Robert’s case will be entered in court on September 12. The Oakland Police Department is continuing to investigate this fatal dog attack and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
