Dean Cain Claims Sexual Harassment Superman Series
Dean cain Reveals He Could Have Filed Hollywood’s Biggest Sexual Harassment Lawsuit
Dean Cain, the actor best known for his portrayal of Superman in the 1990s hit series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has made a surprising revelation about his time in Hollywood. Cain stated that he “could have had the biggest sexual harassment lawsuit in Hollywood history.”
However, cain has not pursued any legal action against the individual he claims harassed him and has chosen not to share further details about the allegation. The outlet that reported this also noted that the harassment significantly impacted his relationship with Gabrielle Reece, the volleyball player he began dating in 1992. Cain suggested that this experience went beyond the objectification he sometiems faced from executives and crew members on set, which he downplayed, stating, “Any guy who tells you he feels bad being objectified, I mean, really? Come on. It’s a fantastic compliment.”
Beyond Harassment: Financial Disputes and Warner Bros.
Cain also highlighted that there were other incidents, unrelated to harassment, that could have led to legal battles. He recalled being advised against suing Warner Bros. concerning his schedule and financial arrangements for the series. “I didn’t know enough back then about residuals,” cain explained. “Warner Bros. buries the bodies deep and makes it look like it’s lost money. There’s no possible way. But I should have sued.”
The Toll of Television: Overwork and Claustrophobia
Cain attributes his avoidance of television since Lois & Clark to the demanding nature of the show. he explained that the intense schedule left him with no time for workouts, as the studio wouldn’t grant him a workout clause, fearing it would set a precedent for other stars. “That’s why I haven’t done a series as,” he said. “It feels like suffocating. You feel claustrophobic.” This experience contrasts with his earlier career as a professional football player.
Despite these challenges, cain has continued to make guest appearances in various television shows since his iconic role as Superman concluded.
