‘Deep Cover’ Sends Improv Group Undercover in London

A trio of improv performers find themselves in a real-life action comedy in Deep Cover, now available on Prime Video. Co-created by Colin Trevorrow, the film follows the journey of these actors as they are thrust into a high-stakes undercover operation in London.
Bryce Dallas Howard stars as Kat, an American actress and improv workshop leader. Orlando bloom plays Marlon, a method actor relegated to commercials. Nick Mohammed is Hugh, an IT worker seeking confidence through improv.Their lives take an unexpected turn when Detective Billings, portrayed by Sean bean, recruits them to infiltrate a drug ring led by Paddy considine’s character.
The script is a collaborative effort between Trevorrow, Derek Connolly, and the comedy duo Ben Ashenden and Alexander Owen, known as The Pin, who also appear in the film. Tom Kingsley, known for his TV work and the dark comedy Black Pond, directs.
While Howard and Bloom bring their talents to the screen, mohammed, Ashenden, and owen shine with their comedic timing, delivering many of the film’s laughs.
