In 2020, Sayuri made headlines when she gave birth to her son Zen through sperm donation. At the time, she revealed that she had been facing the risk of early menopause, making it challenging for her to get pregnant. Determined to have a child, she opted for in vitro fertilization.
With the support of her mother, Sayuri found a hospital in Japan that offered sperm donation services. The hospital provided detailed information about the sperm donor, which included childhood photos, genetic traits, allergies, family medical history, intelligence quotient (IQ), and emotional quotient (EQ).
