Sanders has faced previous health challenges, including the amputation of two toes in 2021 due to blood clot issues. In 2023, he underwent procedures to address a blood clot in his right leg and correct issues with his left foot, causing him to miss media day.
His contract extension includes a requirement to run at least three on-campus football camps. The Colorado Buffaloes are scheduled to begin their third year under Sanders on Aug. 29 against Georgia Tech at Folsom Field.
