Delhi Baker Dies by Suicide After Dispute With Wife
Delhi Bakery Owner Found Dead, Family Alleges Wife’s Harassment
Model Town, Delhi – Tragedy struck a Delhi family as Puneet Khurana, a local bakery owner, was found dead in his home on January 1, 2025. Police are investigating teh death as a possible suicide, with Khurana’s family alleging that ongoing marital disputes and harassment from his wife contributed to the tragedy.
Khurana, who co-owned the popular For God’s Cake bakery and the now-closed Woodbox Cafe with his wife, was reportedly found hanging in his residence in Kalyan Vihar. Family members claim that Khurana had been deeply troubled by his relationship with his wife, Manika Pahwa.
“Puneet was upset with his wife,” a family member told reporters. “They had been having serious problems, and he felt mentally tortured and harassed by her and her family.”
Adding to the family’s claims, they allege that Pahwa recorded a heated phone conversation with Khurana about their bakery business and shared it with her relatives. In the recording, obtained by local news outlets, the couple can be heard arguing intensely.
“You are calling me at 3 am,can’t you sleep? You disrespected me and my family,” pahwa is heard saying in the recording.
Khurana’s response, filled with despair, was, “All these things have no meaning right now… Tell me what you wont now.”
Khurana’s sister further alleged that Pahwa had hacked into her brother’s social media accounts and that a 59-minute video recording exists detailing the harassment he endured.
This tragic incident comes just weeks after another high-profile suicide case in Bengaluru, where techie Atul Subhash took his own life, leaving behind a 24-page note accusing his wife and her family of harassment.
The Delhi Police have seized Khurana’s phone and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. The case has sparked a renewed conversation about the devastating impact of domestic disputes and the importance of seeking help when facing relationship difficulties.
