Delhi Pollution: Key Updates

  1. GRAP III Implementation: The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Level 3 will be enforced from November 15, 2023. This plan aims to combat high pollution levels in Delhi.

  2. School Closures: Junior schools in Delhi-NCR will close and construction activities will stop as GRAP III is activated due to severe air quality.

  3. Shift to Online Classes: Primary schools in Delhi will switch to online classes in response to the ongoing pollution crisis.

  4. Post-Deepavali Air Quality: Air quality has significantly worsened in many eastern Indian state capitals following the Deepavali festival.

  5. Ongoing Restrictions: The air quality in Delhi remains in the ‘severe’ category, prompting the authorities to tighten GRAP-3 restrictions.

These measures aim to protect residents from the detrimental effects of pollution and improve air quality conditions.
