Recently, British courier company Evri announced a series of door-to-door delivery service measures for disabled people and established a partnership with charity Scope.
The new home delivery discount policy will provide more options for users who may take longer to receive their goods or who are unable to receive their goods at the door. It is estimated that 1 in 4 Evri home deliveries in the UK are delivered to disabled users.
Evri is jointly conducting research with the Research Institute for Disabled Consumers (RiDC) to improve delivery services for disabled users, including the ability for disabled users to request more door-to-door times and to tell couriers to ring the doorbell instead of knocking. In addition, Evri is testing a screen reader tool on its official website to make website access more convenient.
Evri has launched a 3-year partnership with UK charity Scope, the first of its kind in the industry. The two parties will work together to promote the integration of people with disabilities into society within the logistics industry, and are committed to creating a more convenient and inclusive workplace for Evri’s disabled employees and disabled users. At the same time, Evri will donate 125,000 pounds to Scope to inspire people to take caring actions.
