Denver Broncos to Honor Demaryius Thomas in ring of Fame

The Denver Broncos will celebrate the legacy of Demaryius Thomas, a former Pro Bowl receiver, by inducting him into the team’s Ring of Fame.The ceremony is scheduled for halftime during their Week 7 game against the New York Giants.
Thomas, who passed away in December 2021, made a notable impact on the Broncos. A five-time Pro Bowler, he played a vital role on Denver’s 2015 Super Bowl-winning team. His career included an iconic 80-yard touchdown catch in overtime against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 2011 wild-card playoff game.
“Demaryius Thomas’ election to the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame is a testament to the indelible mark he left,” Broncos owners Greg penner and Carrie Walton Penner said. They noted his breathtaking athleticism and joyful spirit. The team looks forward to honoring Demaryius thomas alongside his Super Bowl 50 teammates during Alumni Weekend.
During his 10 NFL seasons, Thomas achieved remarkable statistics with the Broncos. he ranks second in franchise history for receiving yards (9,055) and touchdown receptions (60),and third in receptions (665). In 2014, he set single-season and single-game records with 1,619 receiving yards and 226 yards against the Arizona Cardinals, respectively. Thomas recorded at least 1,000 receiving yards in five seasons.
Thomas also set a Super Bowl record with 13 receptions in Super Bowl XLVIII,which was later broken. He scored the Broncos’ only touchdown in that game, a 14-yard pass from Peyton Manning.Manning established a scholarship in Thomas’s memory in 2022.
“It’s not really on the field, a touchdown pass or one of his great catches,” Manning said, recalling moments with Thomas. “It’s kind of the great moments in the locker room after the game… Demaryius was always paying it forward. He never forgot where he came from… And so I wanted to keep his legacy alive.”
