Demi Moore Gives Update on Bruce Willis’s Health
Demi Moore on Bruce Willis‘s FTD diagnosis: “he’s in a Very Stable Place”
Actress demi Moore offered a poignant update on ex-husband Bruce Willis’s health, revealing he is “in a very stable place” despite his diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
Moore, who was married to the Die Hard star for 13 years and shares three daughters with him, spoke candidly about Willis’s condition in a recent interview with Christiane Amanpour.
“Given the givens, [Bruce Willis] is in a very stable place at the moment,” Moore shared. “It’s very tough and not what I would wish upon anyone, and there is great loss – but there’s also great beauty and gifts that can come out of it.”
Willis’s health struggles first came to light in March 2022 when his family announced he had been diagnosed with aphasia,a condition affecting interaction abilities. Last year, his daughter Rumer revealed a more specific diagnosis of FTD.
FTD is a group of dementias primarily affecting the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, which are responsible for personality, behavior, language, and speech.
Despite their separation in 2000, Moore and Willis have maintained a close relationship, prioritizing their family unit.”That has been very important to me, even from when Bruce and I separated and divorced, is the recognition that we’re a family and we’ll always be a family, just in a different form,” Moore explained. “And that form may evolve and change, and there is a way in which we can all be in that form. I’m grateful because it’s not just me. It has to require everybody to be coming together, and it’s lovely. I’m really so grateful.”
Willis, known for iconic roles in films like The Sixth Sense, Pulp Fiction, and the Die Hard franchise, stepped away from acting following his diagnosis.
