Denham ⁤Hitchcock, formerly a prominent figure⁤ at Channel Seven, has revealed the motivations behind his ⁢decision ⁣to embrace a life at sea ⁣with his family ⁢and his subsequent move ‌to Channel Ten.

Hitchcock, his wife Mari, and their children spent time living on a catamaran before returning to Sydney earlier this year. He told Stellar magazine ⁢that his experiences reporting on disasters and a personal health scare prompted him ‍to pursue a ‍different path.

“I ​interviewed people most of the time in⁤ a terrible‍ stage of their life, horrendous things have happened to them… And everybody says the same thing: ‘I never thought it would happen to me’,” Hitchcock⁣ said. “I realised ​there’s really no good time to leave it behind and go ​and chase other‍ dreams.
