Derbyshire, Gloucestershire Settle for Draw in County Championship Match

Bristol, England-An exciting County Championship Division Two match between Derbyshire and Gloucestershire ended in a draw after Harry Came fell just short of a century. the Derbyshire cricket team ultimately couldn’t chase down the target set by Gloucestershire.
Gloucestershire declared at lunch, their score at 526-6. Graeme van Buuren was a key player, adding 70 to his overnight score before being dismissed for 175. James Bracey contributed a swift 43 runs.
Derbyshire faced a target of 316 runs in 67 overs. Came and Caleb Jewell launched a strong opening partnership, scoring 177 runs in just over 31 overs. Jewell was dismissed for 83, hitting 12 fours. Came followed, falling for 91, including seven fours and three sixes.
Van Buuren’s left-arm spin proved crucial, claiming four wickets for 64 runs. Anuj Dal, with 36 not out, and Ben Aitchison held on for a draw, finishing at 296-8. Derbyshire secured 14 points, while gloucestershire earned 11.
Earlier,Cameron Bancroft,gloucestershire’s captain,began the day at 170 not out. he added only six runs before being bowled by Zak Chappell. Bancroft’s innings, lasting nearly seven and three-quarter hours and 366 balls, was pivotal.
Van buuren and Bracey initially played cautiously before accelerating. Bracey hit a six off Alex Thomson, extending the lead. Van Buuren reached 150 off 261 balls.
