A new RTÉ series will offer viewers an inside look at the homes of prominent Irish celebrities, with architect and presenter Dermot Bannon exploring the personal stories behind their properties. The show, titled Dermot Bannon’s Celebrity Super Spaces, is set to premiere on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with additional episodes airing on May 3, 2026, on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

The series features well-known figures from entertainment, sports, and design, including Vogue Williams and her husband Spencer Matthews, who will showcase their home in Howth in the first episode. Bannon will then visit the jewellery designer Chupi Sweetman’s residence before turning to Ireland rugby star Andrew Porter, who will reveal his simply designed home in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains, along with a gym he designed himself as a new business venture.

In County Cavan, songwriter and music producer Don Mescal will give Bannon a tour of his home, which is a renovated church. Interior designer Geri O’Toole will welcome the presenter to her converted 19th-century cottage and outhouses in Limerick, where she will also discuss her experiences working with high-profile clients and managing their expectations.

The second episode will see comedian Joanne McNally opening the doors to her bright home in Clapham, London. Bannon will later visit the Dublin residence of musician Camille O’Sullivan and actor Aidan Gillen, who have spent nine years restoring a 1940s protected structure from dereliction into a family home. Their project recently received the RIAI Public Choice Award.

The series aims to go beyond aesthetics, focusing instead on what these spaces mean to their owners and the personal journeys behind renovations, restorations, and extensions. As Bannon explores each property, he will highlight the emotional and practical significance of the homes, rather than merely showcasing their design.

RTÉ confirmed the broadcast details through official channels, noting that the programme will be available both on linear television and via the RTÉ Player streaming service. The announcement aligns with the network’s recent focus on lifestyle and personality-led programming featuring Irish public figures.

Dermot Bannon, known for his work on RTÉ’s Room to Improve, brings his architectural expertise to the series, using his background to interpret the design choices and adaptations made by each celebrity. His approach combines professional insight with personal conversation, allowing viewers to understand both the physical and narrative dimensions of each space.

The series joins a growing trend of celebrity-led home tours on Irish television, though it distinguishes itself by emphasizing the architectural and emotional narratives behind the properties rather than focusing solely on luxury or celebrity lifestyle. By featuring a diverse range of figures — from athletes to musicians to designers — the show offers a broad perspective on how public figures shape and are shaped by their living environments.
