Jason Derulo,The Script to Headline Cherry Blossom Festival
American pop star Jason Derulo and Irish band The Script will headline the Cherry blossom Festival in Shillong, India, on Nov.14, 2025, marking their India debut. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma announced the news on World Music Day,June 21.
The Cherry Blossom Festival, supported by meghalaya Tourism, has previously featured artists such as Akon, Boney MS Maizie Williams, Ronan Keating, and ne-Yo. The festival will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and Polo Grounds.
tickets for the Cherry Blossom Festival are expected to be available at the end of June. The festival aims to provide an immersive experience, including RFID LED wristbands for ticket holders, similar to those used by Coldplay, to create a synchronized light show.
This Cherry Blossom Festival performance marks Derulo’s first festival appearance in India. Derulo recently collaborated with Nora Fatehi on the song ”Snake.” He will perform with a 15-member dance crew.
The Script, co-headlining day one, gained global recognition with their debut album in 2008, featuring hits like “Breakeven” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.” Guitarist Mark Sheehan died in 2023,but the band has continued,releasing their album “Satellites” in 2024. The lineup includes founding members Danny O’Donoghue and Glen Power, along with Benjamin Sargeant and Ben Weaver.
