Mauritanian Foreign Minister Calls for International Action Against Israeli Aggression
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mohamed Salem Ould Marzouk, emphasized the need for the international community to take urgent measures to pressure Israel to stop its blatant aggression and comply with international law.
Humanitarian Aid and Reconstruction
Ould Marzouk stressed that Israel must ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid to those displaced, return the displaced to their homes, and start the reconstruction process.
He emphasized that the international community must be aware that there is no alternative to a sustainable political solution that guarantees the Palestinian people all their legitimate rights, including the recognition of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Eastern Jerusalem as its capital.
Mauritania’s Presidency at the Arab League
The minister highlighted that Mauritania’s presidency at the 161st session of the Arab League witnessed several serious challenges, including the war of genocide carried out by the Israeli army of occupation against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the rest of Palestine.
Ould Marzouk noted that everything has become permissible in and around Gaza, with no sanctity to the right to life and no limit to cruelty and violation of human dignity.
Unity and Coordination
The minister emphasized that Mauritania was keen on the unity of ranks and worked in unity to strengthen and intensify consultation and coordination between Arab countries, in close collaboration with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
