Design Dominance: Hyundai and Kia Sweep 12 Prestigious Awards at IDEA Design Awards
Kia EV9 Wins Top Honors at 2024 International Design Excellence Awards
Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. announced on Friday that they won a total of 12 awards, including three Gold Awards, at the 2024 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA), organized by the Industrial Designers Association of America.
The IDEA Design Awards, which began in 1980, are considered North America’s premier design competition and are recognized as one of the top three design awards in the world, along with Germany’s iF Design Award and the Red Dot Design Award.
Each year, the competition selects the best designs across different categories through comprehensive evaluations based on innovation, consumer benefits, and social responsibility.
Top Winners: Hyundai IONIQ 5 N and Kia EV9
Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N electric vehicle and Kia’s large EV9 electric SUV won the top Gold Award at this year’s IDEA Design Awards.
The EV9 was praised for its futuristic yet luxurious design, which represents Kia’s direction in electric SUVs. The IONIQ 5 N was recognized for its distinctive, high-performance design that emphasized exclusivity.
Additional Awards and Recognition
Hyundai’s Pony Heritage campaign also won a Gold Award in the branding category, highlighting the brand’s excellence.
The Hyundai Santa Fe Concept and Santa Fe XRT received a Bronze Award and an honorable mention in the automotive and transportation category, respectively. GV80 Coupe Genesis was also awarded for its dynamic elegance of design.
Hyundai and Kia received further recognition in categories such as packaging, home EV chargers, heritage magazines, and outdoor products.
