Desmond Claude chooses Washington in Transfer Portal Move

Desmond claude, formerly of USC, has committed to Washington, according to CBS sports’ Jon Rothstein. Claude, a highly sought-after point guard in the college basketball transfer portal, is set to join the Huskies. He was the highest-ranked uncommitted prospect in the portal’s top 150.
Claude’s decision followed interest from Alabama and Gonzaga. He is ranked as the No. 9 point guard and No. 31 overall player in the 2025 transfer cycle. This move marks Claude’s second transfer in as many years, having previously played at Xavier before joining USC.
During his time with the Trojans, Claude led the team in scoring, averaging 15.8 points per game. The New Haven, Conn., native also recorded a double-double against Washington, scoring 25 points and dishing out 11 assists. He ranked 12th in the Big Ten in scoring.
Washington coach Danny Sprinkle is actively rebuilding the team’s roster. Claude is the second USC transfer to join the Huskies, following Wesley Yates III. Despite losing seven players to the portal, Washington has added an equal number of incoming prospects, six of whom are rated as four-star recruits.
