Desperate Plea: ‘Sai Mai Must Survive’ – Family’s Nightmare Unfolds After Hospital’s Alleged Medical Blunder Leaves Brother in Coma
Girl Cries Out for Justice: “Sai Mai Must Survive” After Brother’s Wrong Hospital Injection
On September 23, 2024, at 11:00, Ms. Phonnaphat Muangsakul, 33, traveled from Chainat province to meet with Mr. Ekkapop Luangprasert, Advisor to the Minister of the Interior and founder of the Saimai Must Survive page. She sought justice for her brother, who was wrongly injected with a medication at a hospital in Chainat province on September 13, 2024, leaving him in a coma.
The hospital initially allowed her brother to stay overnight, and the doctor informed the family that his condition had improved. However, the doctor decided to give him a glucose injection due to a slight drop in sugar levels. The family was told that he could go home in the afternoon.
During the injection, the brother suddenly had severe convulsions, and the medical team immediately took him to the intensive care unit. The doctor later informed the relatives that the nurse had given the wrong injection, which was believed to be caused by the nurse’s fatigue from working consecutive days without rest.
The family tried to ask the doctor which medication was incorrectly administered and why their brother was in a coma, but they received no answer. As the brother’s condition worsened, the hospital sent him to the intensive care unit of the provincial hospital for further treatment.
