Deutsche Telekom (DT) has acquired rights to broadcast multiple FIFA‌ World Cup tournaments, including the 2026 men’s ‍event ​and the⁣ 2027 FIFA Women’s World⁢ Cup in Brazil. The package also includes the U20 World Cups in 2025 and 2027.

The German telecommunications company will⁤ broadcast 272 games across ​these tournaments‌ on ⁢its magentatv streaming service.Coverage will include highlights, interviews and related programming.This marks the‍ first time DT will broadcast the FIFA Women’s⁢ World cup.

Arnim Butzen,head of TV at DT,acknowledged the challenges of broadcasting the expanded 2026 men’s ‍World Cup,which will ⁣feature​ 48 teams and 104 matches across multiple time zones. “48 participating nations, 104​ matches over six weeks – this is the biggest football tournament of all time,” butzen said.

“For us and our partners, this will be a sprint ⁢over a marathon‍ distance…we are happy to accept this logistical challenge and want to make the World⁣ Cup an unforgettable football experience for our customers,” Arnim Butzen, Deutsche Telekom Head of TV said.
