“Absolutely shaken” by Proximity to Alleged Killer
Lindsay Polyak shared her deeply unsettling experience with “Banfield” on Friday night, detailing her outlook on Andrew James McGann. McGann is accused of fatally stabbing Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, while they where hiking with their two young children in Arkansas.
“I was just absolutely shaken that Cristen and Clinton Brink were brutally murdered, allegedly, by the hands of the man that my son was around every day at his elementary school,” Polyak stated, her voice trembling with emotion.
While McGann was not her son’s regular teacher,Polyak confirmed he was occasionally present in the classroom on Fridays. “It was chilling to realize that he was around someone who could do this,” she added.
Chilling Details Emerge in Devil’s Den Killings
Authorities believe Clinton Brink was the first victim, allegedly stabbed while hiking with his family. His wife, Cristen Brink, reportedly rushed their young daughters to safety before returning to aid her husband, only to be killed herself, according to Arkansas State Police.
“Red flags” and Disturbing Classroom Behavior
Polyak described McGann as appearing “charismatic” and someone the children seemed to enjoy being around.Though, she recalled “red flags” that surfaced through her 10-year-old son’s observations.
“He likes to ‘play tag at recess, he plays Truth or Dare with the girls,'” Polyak recounted, detailing her son’s innocent descriptions. “And then I start hearing these things like he’s giving out candy. He gives candy out in class, but really, it’s for the girls.”
These unsettling accounts, coupled with complaints from other parents about “inappropriate things happening in the classroom,” led to McGann being placed on leave pending an investigation. He later resigned from his position. Two years later, McGann now faces two capital murder charges in connection with the tragic deaths at Devil’s Den State Park.
