Devo and The B-52’s are joining forces for the Cosmic De-Evolution Tour, bringing their iconic sounds to stages across North America this fall. The tour, a continuation of sorts of their previously announced farewell stints, promises a night of unforgettable music and quirky stage presence.
The Cosmic De-Evolution Tour kicks off in late September and continues through early November, hitting major cities from Toronto to houston. Adding to the excitement, Lene Lovich, known for her own unique brand of new wave, will be supporting the tour.
fred Schneider of The B-52’s acknowledged the rigors of touring but emphasized the special nature of this opportunity. “In 2022, I swore I’d never get on a tour bus again,” he said, adding that the chance to perform with Devo was too good to pass up.
Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo echoed the enthusiasm, praising The B-52’s’ distinctive sound. “The B-52’s had one of the best sounds of any of the bands out there in the late ’70s early ’80s—‘Rock Lobster’ is one of my favorite songs,” he stated,highlighting the serendipitous nature of the tour’s creation.
