SAMARINDA, Indonesia – The East Kalimantan Provincial Health Office is urging residents to take precautions against dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) following a notable increase in cases across the region. As the start of the year, 1,375 cases have been reported from 10 districts and cities.

Balikpapan City records Highest Number of Cases
Data compiled by the Health office indicates that Balikpapan City has been the hardest hit, with 439 reported cases.Kutai Kartanegara Regency follows with 401 cases, and East Kutai Regency has recorded 237 cases.
Othre regions reporting cases include North Paser Sharp (81), West Kutai (63), Paser (49), Samarinda (43), Berau (29), Penajam Paser Utara (28), and Mahakam Ulu (5).
