Burgin’s strong showing,Chebet nearly breaks record at Diamond League rabat
RABAT,Morocco – British runner Max Burgin delivered a personal best in the 800-meter race at the Diamond League meet in Rabat,finishing second with a time of 1 minute,43.34 seconds. Burgin, 23, bested Kenya’s Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi, who finished third.
Tshepiso Masalela of Botswana took first place in the 800m, setting a new meet record of 1:42.69. The diamond League role saw other stellar performances, including one near-record run.
