Diddy Lawyers Seek to Strike Kid Cudi Testimony in Sex Crimes Trial
Sean “diddy” Combs’ legal team has requested the court to strike Kid Cudi’s testimony from his ongoing sex crimes trial. The motion, filed Monday, argues that Cudi’s statements about Diddy allegedly setting fire to his Porsche in 2011 are based on speculation, not direct evidence.
The trial, expected to last eight to 10 weeks, has now entered its third week. Diddy’s lawyers contend that Cudi’s testimony is improper and should be removed from the record, preventing its use moving forward. the defense claims Cudi admitted he lacked personal knowledge connecting Combs to the vehicle damage.
Cudi testified May 22 that he suspected Diddy torched his car with a Molotov cocktail after learning Cudi was dating Cassie. Cassie had made similar allegations in her 2023 lawsuit against Diddy. Cudi told the jury that Diddy denied involvement during a subsequent conversation, but Cudi maintained his belief that Diddy was lying.
“A witness generally cannot testify that in his opinion, a declarant was lying when making a statement,” the filing reads.
Last week,Kid Cudi testified that Diddy harassed him after discovering his relationship with Cassie in 2011.Cudi stated he believed Diddy broke into his home, locking his dog in the bathroom as an intimidation tactic. Shortly after, Cudi’s Porsche was set ablaze, leading him to blame Diddy for the arson.
Following his testimony, Kid Cudi addressed fans, expressing gratitude for their support during the “stressful situation.”

What’s next
The judge will consider Diddy’s motion to strike Cudi’s testimony as the sex crimes trial continues, with further witnesses and evidence expected in the coming weeks.
