Diddy & Son Settle Legal Fee Dispute With Summa LLP Amid Ongoing Lawsuits
- Sean “Diddy” Combs and his son, Christian Combs, have settled a dispute with the law firm Summa LLP over unpaid legal fees, TMZ reports.
- The legal fees largely stemmed from representation related to a civil lawsuit filed against Christian Combs by Grace O’Marcaigh.
- Diddy has previously denied any wrongdoing and sought to dismiss the claims against him.
Sean “Diddy” Combs and his son, Christian Combs, have settled a dispute with the law firm Summa LLP over unpaid legal fees, TMZ reports. The firm claimed it was owed $53,688.35 for more than 100 hours of attorney work and approximately 90 hours of paralegal time. While the terms of the settlement remain undisclosed, the agreement resolves that particular financial disagreement.
The legal fees largely stemmed from representation related to a civil lawsuit filed against Christian Combs by Grace O’Marcaigh. O’Marcaigh alleges that Christian Combs attempted to coerce her into performing oral sex while she was working as a steward on a yacht chartered in 2022. She also claimed that Diddy fostered a “lawless atmosphere” on the vessel, allegations that remain contested.
Diddy has previously denied any wrongdoing and sought to dismiss the claims against him. In a letter, he stated, “[It] incorrectly alleges that I chartered the yacht where the alleged assault occurred… I am neither the signatory nor a party to the… Charter Agreement.” His defense centered on disputing any contractual connection to the yacht.
The settlement with Summa LLP does not resolve the underlying claims in the O’Marcaigh lawsuit, which continues to unfold. The case has garnered public attention, including commentary from rapper 50 Cent, who questioned the status of Christian Combs’s case on Instagram following the release of the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which 50 Cent executive produced. He wrote, “Come on Christian you can do better than that man. LOL. No seriously how is your case going, the one when you drug shorty on the boat?”
This settlement arrives as Diddy is currently serving a federal sentence of more than four years after being convicted on two counts related to transportation to engage in prostitution. The financial resolution with Summa LLP offers a temporary respite from legal pressures, but the Combs family continues to navigate multiple legal proceedings.
According to reports from multiple news outlets, the work performed by Summa LLP began in March 2025. Alejandro Barrientos, Summa’s attorney, confirmed the settlement.
The O’Marcaigh case, as detailed in reports, alleges that the incident occurred around New Year’s Eve 2022. The lawsuit names both Christian Combs for the alleged assault and Diddy for allegedly aiding and abetting.
