OPPO Find X8 Prototype Performance Test Reveals Impressive Scores
OPPO is gearing up to launch its flagship smartphone, the Find X8, which is expected to feature MediaTek’s new premium chipset, the Dimensity 9400.
The OPPO Find X8’s latest prototype performance has been tested on the Geekbench platform, with the model number MT6991 chipset, which is said to be a premium chipset like the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 with 16GB of RAM. The test results show scores of 2,876 points in single-core tests and 8,987 points in multi-core tests.
Although these scores are lower than the test results of competing chipsets, such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on the OnePlus 13, which achieved 3,236 points and 10,049 points respectively, it’s essential to note that this has only been tested on a prototype. Once the software update is completed on the smartphone, the Dimensity 9400 is expected to receive test results more similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 will be produced with TSMC’s (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) second-generation 3nm N3E technology, which will provide 40% higher processing efficiency and 35% better power efficiency than Dimensity 9300. The chipset will feature 8 high-performance CPU cores, including:
- Cortex-X5, 1 core: Maximum performance processing with a maximum speed of 3.4 GHz
- Cortex-X4, 3 cores: High-performance processing with a maximum speed of 3.3 GHz
- Cortex-A720, 4 cores: High-performance processing with a maximum speed of 2.4 GHz

MediaTek will launch the Dimensity 9400 in early October 2024, with the OPPO Find X8 and Find X8 Pro among the first smartphones to launch with the chipset.
