Dinamo Unveils New Era: Nemanja Bjelica Takes the Reins as Head Coach
Nenad Bjelica Appointed as New Coach of Dinamo
Nenad Bjelica has been confirmed as the new coach of Dinamo, succeeding Sergej Jakirović, as announced by the Zagreb club on social media.
The Executive Committee has unanimously supported Nenad Bjelica as the choice of sports director Marić and president Velimir Zajec.
Bjelica returns to Maksimir after a four-year absence, during which he managed Osijek and had coaching spells at Trabzonspor in Turkey and Union Berlin in Germany. He terminated his contract with Union Berlin to return to Dinamo.
Bjelica previously led Dinamo between May 2018 and April 2020, winning two Croatian championship titles, the Cup, and the Supercup. Under his leadership, Dinamo experienced a successful “European spring” after 50 years.
Bjelica has also managed FC Kärnten, Lustenau, WAC, Austria Vienna, Spezia, and Lech throughout his career.
Bjelica will make his first appearance on Dinamo’s bench on Saturday when Dinamo host Lokomotiva in the 8th round.
