Ding Xuexiang Unveils China’s Vision at 2024 Global Services Trade Summit

China’s Commitment to High-Level Opening Up

The Global Services Trade Summit ‍of the 2024 China International Services ⁢Trade Fair was held in Beijing‍ on September 12. Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee⁢ and Vice Premier of⁣ the State Council, attended the summit and delivered a keynote speech.

Ding Xuexiang stated that President Xi Jinping has delivered important video speeches to the CIFTIS or sent congratulatory letters to the CIFT for six consecutive years, reflecting China’s firm determination to ​promote high-quality ⁤development through ⁢high-level opening⁢ up. Since the ‍new era, ​China has vigorously promoted ‍high-level opening ‌up to the outside world, accelerated the open and innovative development of the service industry and service trade, and achieved remarkable results.

Deepening Cooperation ⁢in the Service Sector

Ding Xuexiang emphasized that China is willing to work ​with all parties to continue to deepen cooperation in the service sector and service trade, promote the ​high-quality development of service trade with a high level of openness, and make greater⁣ contributions to the prosperity ⁢and development of the world economy.

He outlined four key areas of cooperation:

  1. Jointly Sharing New Opportunities for ‍Open Development: Promote ⁣the institutional ​opening ‌of ‌service trade,⁢ actively align with high-level‌ international economic and trade norms,‌ improve the management system of the negative list‌ for cross-border service trade,​ and ⁢continuously promote the gradual opening of cross-border service trade across the country.
  2. Jointly Cultivating New Driving Forces for Innovation and Development: Improve the management and promotion system ⁢of technology⁢ trade, and accelerate the​ process of digitalization, intelligence, and greening of service trade.
  3. Jointly Expanding⁤ New Space in the Super-Large Market: Carry out pilot projects to expand opening up in fields such as cloud computing, biotechnology, and wholly-owned hospitals, and promote the integrated development of‌ service trade and⁤ high-end society.
  4. Jointly ‍Creating a New Environment for​ Cooperative Development: Further improve the level of opening up of free trade agreements, expand independent and unilateral‌ opening​ up‍ to less developed countries, and strengthen cooperation in service trade and digital trade with countries co-building the “Belt and⁣ Road”.

International Cooperation and ‍Support

Georgia’s ​First Deputy Prime Minister Davitashvili and the Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization Deng Hongsen attended the summit and delivered speeches via video. Coleman, Secretary General of the Organization​ for Economic Co-operation and Development, also attended the summit.

Encouraging Investment and Cooperation

Before the summit, Ding Xuexiang and⁣ Yin Li inspected the CIFTIS exhibition hall and communicated with the heads ⁤of the ​exhibiting companies. Ding Xuexiang encouraged companies from all over the world to‍ invest and set⁣ up business in ‌China, and encouraged Chinese⁣ enterprises ⁤to improve ​their capabilities and service levels to benefit ⁣people ​in all countries.

The summit was attended by about 800 people, including⁣ heads of relevant Chinese departments and units, as ‌well​ as representatives of relevant countries⁢ and⁤ regions, heads of international institutions, heads of ​multinational corporations, and foreign ⁢business associations.
