Several public and private entities have worked in partnership with the Fund to support people with different abilities.

On 30 August this year, a sunny day, with nice winds, in that excellent location as Comfacauca Olympic Village, Unit 2, the first sports and labor inclusion Fair was held, organized by the Public Employment Service of the Compensation Fund, in collaboration with public entities and private that contributes to the development of projects for the benefit of the population with disabilities.

Cristian Laso, research professor of the sports training program at the Autonomous University of Colombia and founding member of the Club Talentos Unidos de Popayán, highlighted the importance of this day: “These types of events are a great alternative that makes the population group this is visible. Furthermore, these spaces help to overcome those derogatory views that society produces.”

The club, which works at a social and community level, offers sports such as powerlifting, badminton, swimming and athletics, which focus on people with visual, physical, cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities.

Leidy Vanesa Molina, director of the Samuel Mera (Fusmer) Foundation and Mujer Cafam 2024, said in recognition of this fair: “I applaud the places that Comfacauca provides; It is worth highlighting the work being done at departmental level. My message to the communities is that we look at people with disabilities with opportunities and empathy, let us continue to look for these opportunities to make the different talents of these people visible.”
