Disbanded National Congress Party attacks American ambassador and accuses him of spreading sedition
The suddenly dissolved National Congress Party attacked America’s special envoy to Sudan, Tom Perriello, and accused him of spreading causes of discord among Sudanese components, and demanded that he respect the people of Sudan and its state institutions.
The ruling National Congress Party under the defunct regime of Omar al-Bashir was dissolved, according to the law dismantling the regime of June 30, 1989, which was issued in 2019.

The statement added: “The National Congress will not respond to these statements, knowing that they are due to its firm position in favor of its armed forces and the participation of its leaders and membership with the steadfast people of Sudan on the battlefields of dignity. “
He called on the American administration “to compel its ambassador to respect the people of Sudan and its state institutions, and to refrain from spreading causes of discord among its political and social components.”
The disbanded party expressed its confidence that Saudi Arabia – which is the trust of the Sudanese people and its government – will give its attention to the implementation of the results of the Jeddah Platform so that other parties do not try to spoil its results.
The American ambassador said that the Sudan does not want the political presence of the National Conference or quick support.
In its statement, the party confirmed that it will work with all the national political forces and community organizations to ensure national reconciliation, and that it will continue to be present in the political world and will not accept and give in to its excluded from political action.
