Experts are puzzled by an unusual island known as ‘The Eye’ in Argentina. This green patch of vegetation floats on a clear water lake, attracting curiosity and speculation.
Some believe it could hide an alien base beneath the water, though there is no evidence to support this idea. People who visit report that the island appears as a perfect circle, as its movement shapes its edges over time.
Argentinian director Sergio Neuspiller sought to learn more about this extraordinary island. He conducted aerial surveys and then explored it up close. Neuspiller stated, “We found the perfect circle as seen from the air.”
While the water appears black from above, it is actually clear, making this finding rare in the region. The muddy bottom gives the water its dark appearance from a distance. Additionally, the water temperature is colder than most other lakes nearby.
The island floats due to water currents that continuously shape and shift it. In 2016, a team of researchers and filmmakers started a Kickstarter campaign to fund a study of the island. Richard Petroni, a civil engineer from New York, worked with Neuspiller on this project.
Petroni described the island’s features, remarking on its rotation and the circular water border around it. He commented, “It’s something real and connects to several supernatural stories, including UFOs and paranormal events.”
The island was first discovered by the film crew six months ago while searching for locations related to paranormal occurrences in the area.
