Discover Chicago’s Newest 1920s Paris-Inspired Speakeasy

Caché 310, a new cocktail lounge inspired by the 1920s, has opened in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. The establishment is located at 310 S Canal St, positioned behind the BMO Tower and near Union Station.

The lounge officially opened on February 14, 2026. It is designed as a moody, intimate speakeasy that emphasizes a hidden atmosphere, situated just steps from the Chicago River.

Concept and Design

The name Caché 310 translates to hidden in French, reflecting the bar’s off-the-beaten-path location. The venue is situated alongside an expansive park behind the BMO Tower, a 50-story building.

Operating partner Santiago Leon of Spearhead Hospitality drew inspiration for the lounge from his annual trips to Paris and his interest in French culture and history. Specifically, Leon looked to the small bars of Montmartre where artists gathered during the 1920s.

To maintain its secluded nature, the lounge is designed so that guests cannot see the outside world from the interior. Access to the venue is available via a short flight of stairs off Van Buren Street on the south side of the building or by walking along the path on the north end of the building.

Offerings and Menu

The establishment specializes in French-inflected cocktails and elevated classics. One featured drink is the New Orleans, which is described as a hybrid between a Sazerac and an Old Fashioned, finished with a spritz of absinthe perfume.

The menu includes indulgent food pairings to accompany the drinks, such as fish tins served with fresh bread and chips paired with caviar.

Management and Background

Caché 310 occupies the space previously held by Afterbar, which operated from 2022 until December 2025. The new lounge is managed by Spearhead Hospitality, a Chicago-based group with a portfolio that includes the Robey Hotel, Valedor, the Up Room and the Canal Street Eatery & Market located inside the BMO Tower.

Leon stated that the goal for the new opening was to provide something special to the neighborhood that would appeal to both the residents of the BMO Tower and general customers seeking creative cocktails.
