International Travel Agents Experience the Charm of Culture, Tourism, and Technology in Anhui
Hefei, September 14 – From September 11 to 13, the International Travel Agents Anhui Tour was held, attracting hundreds of international travel agents from over 50 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan, China. The tour aimed to promote Anhui’s international cultural and tourism boutique routes and enhance Anhui’s international image.
The event was part of the 14th Anhui International Culture and Tourism Festival, which showcased the province’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural beauty, and cutting-edge technology. The travel agents visited various destinations, including the Dahuangshan area, Hefei, Huainan, Bengbu, and other places, to experience the “Misty Dahuangshan·Spiritual Resting Place”, study “Science and Technology Innovation”, feel the “Chu Style and Han Charm”, and appreciate the “Legendary Northern Anhui”.
At the Bengbu Museum, the travel agents participated in an interactive traditional culture experience area, where they learned about the art of tea-making and played the pitching pot game. Li Yiting, manager of Taiwan Yongtaichang Travel Agency, said, “I had only seen traditional tea-making techniques in dramas before, but now I can experience it in person, which gives me a new understanding of traditional culture.”
The Bengbu Innovation Hall impressed the travel agents with its high-tech exhibits. Lin Hongxiang, chairman of the Taiwan-Australia Exchange Association, commented, “Through these few days of travel, I have seen a brand new Anhui. Anhui has a splendid culture and is now a technological province with a sense of the future.”
The Anhui Chu Culture Museum in Huainan City was a highlight of the tour, featuring a rich collection of Chu cultural relics and 3D cultural relic display technology. The museum’s use of technology to integrate history and culture left a lasting impression on the travel agents. Muto Yasumitsu, general manager of FINE SKY from Japan, was particularly interested in the story of Xiang Yu and plans to bring this idea back to Japan to seek cooperation opportunities for animation projects.
Malaysian travel agent Lin Ziling visited Anhui for the first time and was deeply moved by the scenery and culture of Jiuhua Mountain in Chizhou City. She said, “The great Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai wrote dozens of poems praising Jiuhua Mountain. Today, I see that it is indeed worthy of its reputation.”
Tianzhu Mountain in Qianshan City was another stunning destination, with its unique landscape and cultural characteristics. Lin Ziling said, “Anhui’s landscape is different from other places. It has its own characteristics and culture, which makes me feel amazing. I would bring Malaysian tourists to Anhui.”
American travel agent Zhao Meiping runs a Chinese teahouse in Houston and gained valuable insights from her trip to Anhui. At the Doumu Pottery Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Base in Qianshan City, she was attracted to a small, exquisite teapot and decided to buy it. She also visited the Runsi Qimen Old Tea Factory in Chizhou City, where she tasted the unique Qimen black tea and was impressed by its fragrance and flavor.
Zhao Meiping plans to cooperate with the Runsi Keemun Old Tea Factory to promote Chinese tea, especially Keemun black tea, which is popular among foreigners. She also hopes to use Anhui tea sets, brew Anhui tea, and taste Anhui fragrant tea in her teahouse, making her trip to Anhui a long-lasting and fragrant experience.
The travel agents also visited the Anhui iFLYTEK Artificial Intelligence Experience Center, where they were impressed by the translation pen’s ability to translate between Chinese and over a dozen other languages. Xie Jiazhe, a travel agent from Taiwan, said, “This is very convenient for us travel agents. I am considering buying some to bring back to Taiwan.”
In She County, Huangshan City, the travel agents experienced the profound historical heritage and splendid cultural atmosphere of Huizhou. They walked through the intangible cultural heritage market and entered the Huizhou government office to appreciate the beauty of the white-walled and black-tiled Huizhou-style architecture.
