Disney and Pixar Unveil New ‘Zootopia 2’ Details, ‘Elio’ Footage at Annecy

Disney and Pixar presented a wealth of news, images, and presentations to enthusiastic fans at Annecy on Friday.
Jared Bush, Chief creative Officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios and director/writer of Zootopia 2, previewed the upcoming sequel, scheduled for release on November 26. The original Zootopia was celebrated with an open-air screening.
The new footage showcased returning characters Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin), Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman), and Mr. Big (Maurice lamarche), alongside new characters Gary De’snake (Ke Huy Quan), Nibbles (Fortune Feimster), and Dr.Fuzzby (Quinta Brunson). French actor Jean Reno will also lend his voice to a cameo role as a Zootopia Police Department officer.

Disney director Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, Moana) was inducted into Annecy’s Walk of Fame. Jared Bush announced that Clements will return to Walt Disney Studios Animation in an advisory role.
Pixar CCO Pete Docter shared the first 27 minutes of Elio with directors Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi, and producer mary Alice Drumm.

Docter also announced that Pixar’s Gatto, an original feature set in Venice, Italy, will be released in the summer of 2027. Enrico Casarosa, director of Luca, will direct, and Andrea Warren will produce. The film focuses on the friendship between Nero, a music-loving black cat, and a lonely street musician.
