DispatchHealth Achieves New Accreditation for In-Home Hospital Care

Denver, Nov. 21, 2024 — DispatchHealth has become the first organization to earn the Accreditation Commission for Health Care’s (ACHC) new In-Home Hospital Care Accreditation for its Advanced Care service. This achievement highlights DispatchHealth’s commitment to providing hospital-level care at home with a focus on safety, quality, and patient-centered services.

Jennifer Webster, CEO of DispatchHealth, stated, “ACHC accreditation validates the incredible strides we’ve made in bringing high-quality, hospital-level care into the comfort of our patients’ homes.” The company noted significant clinical benefits, such as lower readmission rates and reduced mortality, while saving approximately $5,000 to $7,000 per patient.

DispatchHealth’s Advanced Care service provides home-based care for serious conditions like heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and pneumonia. The new accreditation program seeks to establish quality standards in home health care, with DispatchHealth at the forefront.

Dr. Patrick Kneeland, vice president of medical affairs, emphasized, “This model offers patients an opportunity to receive high-quality care where they feel most comfortable—at home.” This approach personalizes care delivery, making it more effective and aligned with patient needs.

The demand for hospital-level care at home has increased significantly, influenced by patient preferences and the need for affordable health solutions, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. The hospital-at-home market is projected to grow substantially, potentially reaching tens of billions of dollars in the coming years.

Additionally, a multi-year extension of the Acute Hospital Care at Home waiver is expected soon, which will further expand access to in-home hospital care. As a pioneer in this area, DispatchHealth is set to capitalize on these industry changes.

DispatchHealth’s recent accreditation sets a high standard in the hospital-at-home sector and showcases the company’s leadership in providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
