Dive into Conservation: Oris Unveils 300m Waterproof Special Edition Watch to Support Coral Reef Restoration
Oris Supports Coral Reef Restoration with Limited Edition Watch
Oris has announced the Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV, a special timepiece created to support the work of the Australian non-profit organization Coral Reef Restoration Foundation. This limited edition model is part of Oris’ ongoing efforts to combat coral bleaching and promote ocean conservation.
The Australian Institute of Marine Science reports that 73% of coral reefs in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park are undergoing bleaching. Oris is committed to supporting the Coral Reef Restoration Foundation, founded in 2016 to combat this issue.
The Great Barrier Reef Limited Edition IV is based on the new Aquis Date Calibre 400, featuring a 43.5 mm diameter stainless steel case and an ergonomic screw-down crown. The bright blue dial represents the turquoise blue of the Great Barrier Reef seen from above and the sunlight pouring into the sea.
The movement is equipped with the self-winding “Calibre 400” developed by Oris, requiring no maintenance for 10 years. It is also highly anti-magnetic and has a power reserve of 5 days.
This limited edition model is available in 2,000 pieces worldwide, with a special design engraved on the back cover. The Coral Reef Restoration Foundation will receive five copies of this work, in addition to financial support.
