The 38-year-old tennis star was filmed navigating the busy roundabout the night before his 6-3, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1) victory. The footage shows Djokovic laughing as he avoided cars in the lane-less traffic circle.
Djokovic later described the bike ride as an “adrenaline experience.” He said Roland Garros provided him with a bicycle, which he used for the first time. He admitted that navigating the roundabout was a bit risky, with cars “all over the place.”
“Too be honest at one point we had cars all over the place. It was quite an adrenaline experience but I don’t think I will repeat that,” Djokovic said.
Despite the potential danger, Djokovic enjoyed seeing Paris from a bicycle and found it more fun than other forms of transportation. He added that while it was fun, it was also “a bit dangerous.”
