The Des Moines ‍Area Association of ⁢Realtors (DMAAR) announced a $50,000 donation‌ to the Food Bank of Iowa on December 5,2023,to address increasing food insecurity throughout the⁤ state. The contribution aims⁣ to help distribute thousands of meals and bolster outreach services, notably in‍ Central⁣ Iowa, where ‍demand for food assistance ⁢is‍ at a record high, according‌ to a‌ DMAAR news release.

Eric Webster, president of DMAAR, emphasized the connection between stable communities and thriving real estate markets. “REALTORS are ⁢deeply connected to the neighborhoods where we ​live and work,” Webster said​ in the release. “Strong communities start with meeting basic needs. When families ⁤are fed and supported, neighborhoods ⁤thrive, and that stability strengthens our schools,⁢ our workforce, and our real estate‍ markets. We’re honored ‍to support ⁣the Food Bank of Iowa in the vital⁤ work they do every day.”
