The late DMX’s musical vault has been unlocked, revealing a posthumous album, DMX Features, slated for release this summer. Fans can now listen to “bring Out the Worst,” a collaboration between DMX and Joyner lucas, wich dropped Friday.
DMX,the Ruff Ryders icon,died in April 2021 at age 50 after a heart attack. his final album,Exodus,was released a month later.
On “Bring Out the Worst,” DMX’s signature growls introduce the track with a declaration: “They ain’t ready…this is Hip Hop.” He raps, “You can try, but I do fight, just can’t seem to do right/ Can’t run with the big dogs, your jeans is to tight.”
Lucas matches DMX’s energy, rapping, “Told you I’m a rare breed, better hide in the dark, I’m like a Pitt bull mixed with f**king lion and shark.”
DMX Features is described as a collection of unheard collaborations with major hip-hop artists, celebrating DMX’s life and legacy. Wiz Khalifa and Kevin gates are reportedly among the featured artists.
