Gynecologist Wissam Shuaib responded to critics of his speech after he broadcast a video on his Facebook account in which he addressed the incidence of births resulting from “unlawful” pregnancies.

Dr. Wissam was criticized by some who considered her speech against women’s rights, as she explained that her goal was to protect girls and women from falling into such crises.

The union confirmed, in a statement today, that it has referred the complaints filed against the doctor to the Professional Ethics Committee for investigation, stressing the condemnation of any personal actions that harm both patients and the profession.
The union affirms that it faces any violations committed by its members if they are conclusively proven, and that any doctor who deviates from the rules and regulations of professional ethics and established and applicable medical ethics will be referred for investigation and to disciplinary bodies.
