Shanghai Film Festival’s SIFF Project spotlights Key Film Roles

The 27th Shanghai International Film Festival’s SIFF Project market recognized “dog Bite Dog” with two major awards, including the Recommended Projects award adn Happy mahua’s “Joyful Laughter” Special Attention recognition.The film is directed by Cai Kunyu and written by Lin Xiao and Wang Hanmo.
SIFF Project plays a vital role in connecting Chinese and co-produced features with potential investors and distributors. Since it’s launch in 2007, the market has helped more than 100 projects enter production, solidifying its role as a launching pad for collaborations.
Other winners at this year’s event included Yuan Yuan’s “Heading South,” which secured the Specially Recommended Projects designation. Wang Jing is the producer.
Guo Xiaodong’s “A perfect Life,” with a screenplay by Xi Longfei, won the young Director Recommended Projects award. “Wintertime in a Small Town,” directed and written by Wu Chu and Gao Xiangyu, received the Creative Recommended Projects honor.
Emetjan memet’s “Good Drink Pub” earned the In Production Recommended Projects award and Mofei Yinghua’s New Voice Focus recognition. derek Zhang is producing the film, with He Xun as cinematographer.
Dong Jie’s “Zoom In, Zoom Out,” produced by cao Shanshan and filmed by Li Zhong, captured the Annual Recommended by Audience award and Yingqing Inbetween recognition, sharing the latter with “Good Drink Pub.”
Additional projects receiving recognition include Sofia Wang’s “Find Your Way,” Zhang Haidong’s “The Story of Xiao Dong,” and Tang Jiaying’s “Back to Basics.”
