The treatment option, which follows a European Union authorization process concluding in July 2026, will be prescribed exclusively following individual medical assessments conducted by physicians licensed in Germany. The service operates on a self-pay model utilizing a digitally supported workflow that includes online anamnesis, physician review, and structured patient follow-up.
EU Regulatory Approval and Patient Eligibility Criteria
The European Medicines Agency recommended expanding the existing treatment authorization in May 2026, leading the European Commission to grant official approval in July 2026 for the weight control therapy. According to corporate announcements, this marks the first time an oral therapy for weight control has received approval within the European Union.
