Dollar Forecast for 2025: Experts Predict Lower Value, But Uncertainty Remains
New York, NY – A new report from FocusEconomics suggests the U.S. dollar could be worth less against the Argentine peso by the end of 2025. The consensus among experts surveyed points to a dollar exchange rate of $1.403 by December 2025, a downward adjustment from previous projections.
This forecast aligns more closely with the argentine government’s own projections outlined in the 2025 budget, which anticipates a year-end exchange rate of $1.207. This represents a 19% increase from the current value, but still significantly lower than the $1.600-$1.800 range predicted by some analysts.

The discrepancy between these forecasts highlights the uncertainty surrounding Argentina’s economic outlook. Factors influencing the dollar’s trajectory include inflation, the stability of the exchange rate, and the government’s policies on currency unification and capital controls.
“The economy should expand above the latin American average next year thanks to lower inflation and interest rates, and also the government’s liberalizing reforms,” FocusEconomics analysts noted.
However, the success of these reforms and the government’s ability to manage inflation and the exchange rate remain key concerns. Some analysts predict the current 2% monthly devaluation rate of the official dollar could be halved in the first quarter of 2024.
The upcoming midterm elections in October 2023 will also play a important role in shaping Argentina’s economic future and the dollar’s performance.
