Mexican Peso Strengthens, Reaches Lowest Level Since May 2024
The mexican peso closed trading below 17.50 units on January 20, 2026, its lowest level as late May 2024. This strengthening resulted from a weaker U.S. dollar and decreased risk aversion in the market, according to El Financiero.
Banco de México (Banxico) reported the peso appreciated 0.69 percent against the dollar, setting the exchange rate at 17.48 units, 12 centavos less than the previous close.
