Dominican Man Faces Double Life Sentences for Hartford Double homicide
Hartford, CT – A Dominican man is facing two life sentences after being extradited from Puerto Rico for the murders of a young woman and her four-month-old daughter in Hartford.
Lance Morales, 28, allegedly shot and killed Jesiah Mercado, 20, and Messiah Diaz on November 19th following a road rage incident. The shooting occurred around 3:00 PM on New Britain Avenue between Monroe and Zion streets. Morales then fled the scene in a white Infiniti Q70.

Morales was apprehended in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, by a joint task force including U.S.Marshals, Puerto Rican police, and Waterbury homicide detectives. He was extradited too Connecticut and is currently being held without bail.
Morales faces a slew of charges, including two counts of murder, murder with special circumstances, criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree assault, and attempted first-degree assault.
